CastPDF is live. This first release includes:
- Template to PDF: store HTML templates with CSS and sample data, and generate PDFs by sending JSON to
POST /v1/pdf. - HTML to PDF: send HTML (and optional CSS) directly, with or without Liquid data.
- Six starter templates: invoice, receipt, certificate, report, ticket and contract. Pick one when you create a template in the dashboard, or press "Use this template" on its page (templates).
- Liquid templating with loops, conditionals, filters, and
money,numberandformat_datewith locales (Liquid reference). - Print mode on Paged.js: repeating table headers, page breaks, and CSS page numbers and running headers; and a fast mode for simple documents (print CSS guide).
- Template versions: every save is a version; pin the one the API uses, or request a specific version.
- Generate PDF in the dashboard: press Generate PDF in the editor for a clean PDF of your saved template, with a download link. You need a verified email address, and each PDF counts as one on your plan (quickstart).
- Test keys that are free and watermarked, and live keys with per-plan rate limits.
- Signed download URLs and idempotency keys for safe retries (usage and billing).
- Plans from Free to Scale, with rollover of unused documents and overage with a spending cap on paid plans (pricing).
- The dashboard: a template editor with live preview, API keys, the document log, usage and billing.
- Documentation: quickstart, API reference, guides and error codes (docs).
