  • 14-day refunds

    Request a refund within 14 days of a subscription payment, including prorated upgrade charges, unless more than 20% of the documents included in that period have been used. Overage (usage) charges are refunded only when they result from a billing error. There are no pro-rata refunds: after the 14-day window, fees already paid are not refunded, in whole or in part, in any case.

  • Cancel anytime

    Your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for, then moves to Free. Templates are kept.

What counts, what rolls over, and what happens if you go over

You pay for PDFs, not pages. No surprises on your invoice.

Billing in the docs

  • What counts as one PDF

    One PDF made with a live API key or the dashboard’s Generate PDF button counts as one, however many pages it has and whatever its size.

    Failed renders never count. Test-key renders and editor previews are free: they carry a “CASTPDF TEST” watermark and never touch your quota.

  • Going over, and your spending cap

    On paid plans, extra PDFs (overage) cost your plan’s rate per 1,000: $9.00 on Starter. We bill them after the month ends, and totals under $1 are not billed.

    Extra PDFs stop at your spending cap. It starts at twice your monthly price ($38 on Starter), and you can change it in the dashboard at any time.

  • Unused PDFs roll over

    On paid plans, unused PDFs carry into the next month, up to one month’s allowance. Use 1,667 of your 2,500 on Starter, and next month starts with 3,333.

    Rolled-over PDFs are used first and expire after one month, so they do not stack. Annual plans reset monthly too. The Free plan does not roll over.

  • What happens at the limit

    Free: after 100 live PDFs, live requests stop with a clear error until the next month starts. Test keys and previews keep working.

    Paid plans: extra PDFs carry on until your spending cap, then requests stop. Raise the cap or upgrade, and renders resume at once. Overage is paused while a cancellation is scheduled or a payment is overdue. Renders then stop at your included documents.

Pricing questions

Do you charge per page?

No. You pay per PDF, however many pages it has. One PDF made with a live API key or the dashboard’s Generate PDF button counts as one. Failed renders, test-key renders and editor previews never count.

Is there a free plan, and do I need a card?

Yes, there is a free plan, and no, you don’t need a card. The Free plan gives you 100 live PDFs a month, plus free test-key renders. You only enter payment details at checkout, when you choose a paid plan.

What is the “Made with CastPDF” footer?

On the Free plan, live PDFs carry a small grey line at the bottom of every page: “Made with CastPDF · castpdf.com”, with a link to our site. It sits in the page’s bottom margin. Paid plans never add it, and test PDFs carry the “CASTPDF TEST” watermark instead. Subscribe to any paid plan and your next PDF comes without it.

What happens if I go over my limit?

On the Free plan, live PDFs stop after 100 until the next month; test keys keep working. On paid plans, extra PDFs are billed at your plan’s per-1,000 rate until your spending cap. Then they stop until you raise the cap, upgrade or the next month starts. Overage is paused while a cancellation is scheduled or a payment is overdue.

Do unused PDFs expire?

On paid plans, unused PDFs carry into the next month, up to one month’s allowance. Rolled-over PDFs are used first and expire after that month. On the Free plan, unused PDFs do not carry over.

Can I change plans later?

Yes. Upgrades apply at once, and Paddle charges the prorated difference. Downgrades take effect at the next renewal, so you keep what you paid for until then.

Do you offer refunds?

How are taxes and invoices handled?

Paddle.com is our Merchant of Record. Paddle takes the payment, adds the sales tax or VAT that applies where you are, and sends the invoice. Prices on this page are in US dollars, before tax.

Can I cancel any time?

Yes. Cancel from the billing page in the dashboard. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for, then your workspace moves to the Free plan. Your templates are kept.

What happens if a payment fails?

Paddle retries the payment. For a 7-day grace period, your plan’s included documents keep working while you update your payment method, and overage is paused until the payment goes through. If it is still unpaid after that, your workspace moves to the Free plan. Your templates are kept.
