Guides to better PDFs

Most PDF problems show up on page two: a table header that does not repeat, a row cut in half, a missing page number or the wrong font. These guides explain why each one happens and show the CSS or the request that fixes it, tested on the same engine CastPDF runs.

How these guides are written

Each guide starts with the problem as you see it, explains the real cause, and then gives the fix as code you can paste. The print rules match what CastPDF runs: Chromium, with Paged.js laying out pages in print mode. Where a fix works in any browser, we say so. Where it needs print mode, we say that too.

Need more depth?

The print CSS guide in the docs is the full reference for page size, margins, page breaks, running headers and page numbers. The Liquid reference covers loops, conditions and the money and date filters templates use. If a guide does not answer your question, email support and a person on our team will help.
